Fertilizer & Weed Control
At Optimum Care we offer customized lawn treatment programs. Our applications are tailored to what your particular lawn needs, and what the season calls for. All our fertilizers and herbicides are professional grade and some of the most environmentally safe products available. We now use controlled-release fertilizers that feed the grass for longer periods of time and reduce potential loss to the environment.
Fertilization & Weed Control Schedule
Our 6-Step Basic Program includes 3 granular fertilizer applications and 3 spray applications for weed control.
Our 7-Step Premium Program includes Grub Control.
Step 1: Early Spring (granular)
Includes a slow-release fertilizer with a crabgrass pre-emergent. This will help stop crabgrass and many other weeds from germinating as well as provide a quick green up for your lawn.

Step 2: Spring (liquid)
Includes broadleaf weed control for dandelion, clover, ground ivy (creeping charlie), nutsedge, etc.

Step 3: Early Summer (liquid)
Includes spot-spraying any visible weeds in the lawn.

Step 3: Summer (granular)
Includes a slow-release fertilizer to help thicken your lawn and encourage root growth. This app keeps your lawn healthy and strong to help protect it from late summer lawn diseases.

Step 4: Fall (liquid)
Includes broadleaf weed control for dandelion, clover, ground ivy (creeping charlie), nutsedge, ect.

Step 5: Late Fall (granular)
Includes a quick-release formula to give the lawn a healthy blast of nutrition before the grass roots go dormant for the winter.

The Optimum Care Difference
At Optimum Care, protecting and preserving the environment is a big concern. We operate using an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy, which is the process of reducing unnecessary chemicals by only applying herbicides and pesticides when necessary. We take the extra time and care to spot treat weeds, only spraying what is necessary thus helping to maintain a weed-free lawn and a healthier environment.
